On Sunday 13 April, Gemini team member, Mark, will be taking on the challenge of running his first London Marathon in support of Anthony Nolan, the UK's blood cancer charity and bone marrow register.
I am very proud to be running my first London Marathon in memory of my dad, Tony, who had a bone marrow transplant from the Anthony Nolan register a few years ago. I am hoping to raise much needed funds for such an important cause and also to raise awareness of the urgent need for more donors to come forward to join the register.
Anthony Nolan is such a fantastic organisation and their life-saving work needs our support. Every 20 minutes someone in the UK finds out they have a blood cancer and around 1,800 people in the UK are in need of a bone marrow transplant every year. This is usually their last and only chance of survival. These are just the UK stats and Anthony Nolan also supports people in need of a transplant all over the world.
So, I hope you will help my fund-raising efforts and, if you are aged between 16 and 30, please join the Anthony Nolan register.
I have also added some videos at the bottom of this page showing the importance of Anthony Nolan's work.
