Fortune 200 healthcare company Abbott Laboratories has appointed Cheshire-based business, Gemini International, as one of only 3 agencies in their new Meetings and Events Network, supporting the delivery of their international events programme for the next three years.
On behalf of TiE UK North, Gemini recently initiated and organised the prestigious “Pioneering Women at the Forefront of Discovery and Innovation” event in Manchester. Supporting global entrepreneurship organisation TiE and Cancer Research UK, the event was attended by 50 aspiring women entrepreneurs and women business leaders. The world class speakers included: Deborah Leary OBE (President of the British Association of Entrepreneurs and Board Member of the United Nations Global Compact UK Network), Dr Caroline Wilkinson (COO of Cancer Research UK), Kresse Wesling MBE (Environmental Designer and Co-Founder of Elvis & Kresse) and Jeanette Jackson (Nutritionist, Scientist and Author). ‘Controversies in Fungal Infections’ is an educational meeting series, originally developed by Gemini, that has just celebrated its 20th Anniversary. Chaired by Professor Chris Kibbler from University College, London, and the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust, the annual meeting has become established as one of the most popular and important fungal meetings in the UK. The Anniversary Meeting took place a couple of weeks ago and Christine has given an overview of the event.
In December 2013, Gemini attended a workshop in London focusing on gamification in the events industry. The event brought together leading academics, researchers and industry representatives to discuss and debate how this developing technology might impact on events in the future.
